Winterpeg, as I call it at least, is not very wintery right now, only the odd rain shower, but otherwise quite temperate... The drive here was thankfully uneventful and not as long as I remember... I am thinking the potholes just got so big a huge stretch of highway vanished into the Earth, hence making the drive a bit shorter... The air conditioning in the car seems to have given up completely so there's another bill for when I get back but no blown tires...
That said, now I am here and the car is parked at an airport hotel, the plane is delayed by 2'20" so perhaps I will have some time in Reykjavik after all..... The connecting flight to Copenhagen I will already miss as I had only 1'30" to connect, unless it is delayed too... And the next flight leaves around 5pm local time instead of 8am, so perhaps there is time for the Blue Lagoon (?) Or a glimpse of that exploding volcano (?) I would rather that than hours spent watching folks go through gift shops and being tempted by McDonalds... I am now at the mercy of Iceland Express and Iron Maiden...
Iron Maiden?
The lead singer of Iron Maiden works for British leasing company Astraeus, which wet leases pilot and plane to Iceland Express. It is the one claim to fame for this cheap airline. They have a lousy on time record, inflight service is non existant, but they will rent you an iPad to play with in flight. So perhaps he will be head banging up front.... Never a fan of Iron Maiden, his name escapes me...
So I guess the next airport stop is KEF - Reykjavik Keflavik Airport. I might just stay there for the week if I cannot get to Copenhagen by noonish Tuesday as I will lose the flight to Berlin and it will all go to pot :(
Talking of which, the police in Copenhagen just raided 'Pusher Street' in the semi autonomous hippy area of Christiania.... My timing on this trip is just purrfect.... The space cakes held so much promise...
Oh one more thing, I forgot my Canadian passport.... I do have the UK one, so going to Europe is OK, I asked about returning to Canada and no one will say it is certain, but they think it will be OK to get back in. How could I forget it? I know, what a dope! Told you the space cakes held promise. So perhaps your country will have one more refugee in a week.... :) I will ask to be settled in coastal B.C. for cultural reasons.

coastal bc is sliding into the ocean in a few weeks so maybe you should choose abbotsford that will probably be the new coastline. wishing you a very good and exciting trip
