So this morning we had to cover the last few famous spots, which are all within a few Km of each other... I was not eeling well, I see to have a sore throat AND I do recall some people at work with strep throat before I left... Why do you do this to me? What evil do you possess? But I have to stagger along...
OK, so Steve Jobs is also trying to take over this corner of the world... Right next to an urban beach, never seen those in N America, only Europe... No idea why. Mind you, a bottle of beer here, large, is less than 2.50 Cdn and they even sell booze on the railway platforms... I have yet to see a drunk, and come to think of it very little doggie poopenfarben... Lots of iPad ads and iPhones too... What a nice place :)

Checkpoint Charlie is where all the old spy handovers took place and was a control on the no-mans land between the Brit, Yankee, Ruskie and DDR sectors of Berlin. Crowds of tourists here...yuck... Yesterday I didn't see many really...

Americans pay 3 Euro to have a pic taken with a fake US army personnel person... No idea why they would want to...

Silly tourists - the guy in the suit likely that about me...

Round the corner, is a giant art work which reminds me of that video game...what was it called?

Potsdamer Platz.

Sony Centre.

A large amount of interest in this couple making soft porn.... Talking of interest I saw a huge motorcade by my hotel, I think they were Euro Ministers arriving in fleets of large Mercedes... Probably 40 police motor bikes with them all...

A little electric Peugeot

The next stop was actually very sad by the time I went around... It is the explanation of the terror and control system that the Nazi's used... could not take pics inside, but the images in there and the stories were harrowing. School kids come here.... Germany seems to be making an effort to remember the past, and brutally honest too... I cannot be a sociopath, I did feel for the people....

Another section of wall, this site was a Nazi control centre

Behind is a court house

The visitor centre is very new...

This is the old East German Trabant, piece of crap Eastern European cars. west Germany has Audi, BMW and Daimler-Benz, the east had these for "good factory workers"

You can rent them now and blow blue smoke everywhere, they are an icon of old Berlin

An alternative is a bike rental, complete with fresh daisies on the handle bar... Atom Kraft Neine Danke... I want one of those tee shirts, cannot find it!

Another alternative transport, tethered hot air balloon..

Another art gallery

Canadian embassy in poor location... Well there was a Subway sandwich shop so not too bad...

Holocaust Memorial.... Huge!

Back toward to the Brandenburg Gate

From the other side, sky cleared up...

Quebec flags! And look, they have prime real estate, not like the Canadian spot...

These are mimes... Well pretending to be brass statues

Okay another one for Jeffrey, full out 18mm, I did not move.... Can you spot Darth Vader?

Almost full in at 200mm, couldnt go all the way cropped too much off the pic

This one is from afar too

The Bundes Republik has a large parliament, the Reichstag

The glass dome I could not get in....

Walking into the Tiergarten

Ok, this is the Victory Column and a thunderstorm is coming from the heat...

The Angel up top is about to exact revenge....

I climbed up to the top after paying 3 Euro, you can stop right under the Angel - but there was heavy rain and lightning so they evacuated before I got a shot. I was soaked through! Afterwards, do you see the break in the clouds to illuminate her....

Yes, the evil bag got David alright, soaked to the core.
Actually this monument is for success in the Prussian war, not the world wars, all that stuff is gone and any Nazi stuff is illegal to put out...

I like Berlin, people are nice and friendly, chocolate is good, I did find a whole store full of Lindt stuff.... And the hotel was in a great location.
I think I'll be back to get the evil Angel back..... Damn you, damn you...
